Alexander The Great Airport
Description
The new Alexander the Great Airport, built in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, was constructed by TAV, which is one of the leading airport construction and operation companies worldwide. TAV Construction contracted Intac for static and aseismic design of the airport. The area where the old airport was built is subject to high seismic hazard levels leading thus to an advanced engineering approach which would culminate in seismically sound yet spacious volume for an international airport. Intac has successfully completed the design of the new terminal and the utility buildings, seismic vulnerability assessment of the existing structures as well as supervision of the construction .
