Why Are Steel Static Projects Important?

Steel static projects are of critical importance for safe, solid and economical construction. These projects are carried out especially in commercial structures of steel carrier systems to determine how the loads will be carried, the dimensions of the structural elements and the connection details. Now let’s take a step-by-step look at why they are so important:
🔧 Structural Safety
A static project guarantees that the building can withstand all loads (e.g. its own weight, snow, wind, earthquake, usage loads, etc.). An incorrect static calculation can collapse or cause serious damage. Even in a high-strength material such as steel, if the appropriate programming is not done, the carrier system may be inadequate.
💰 Economical and Efficient Material Use
A well-equipped static project ensures that the steel profiles are sized correctly. If larger sections are selected than necessary, the cost increases; If small sections are selected, the structure is at risk. In this way, a solution that is both safe and optimized in terms of cost is required.
🏗️ Determines the Manufacturing and Assembly Process
Steel structures are manufactured in the factory and assembled on site. The static project is instantly determined thanks to the profile length, section, hole locations, and connection plates. In this way, time and cost savings are achieved during production and assembly.
📜 Legal Obligation and License Process
In Türkiye and many countries, in order for a record to be licensed, it must be prepared in accordance with the regulations regarding static records (for example, TBDY in Türkiye – Turkish Building Earthquake Regulation). Otherwise, it cannot obtain a building permit.
🌍 Earthquake Resistance
Static projects in earthquake zones such as Turkey are designed especially by taking into account earthquake forces. Approval of steel structures is a great advantage, but this flexibility can lead to non-structural deformations if not projected correctly. The static project determines how to act against earthquakes and takes the necessary precautions.
🧩 Interdisciplinary Harmony
Static project, to work in harmony with architectural, electrical and mechanical projects. For example; the place where a column passes should not conflict with a mechanical installation line. Static project resolves such conflicts at the beginning and ensures that other disciplines work properly.
As İntac Engineering, we have carried out many large and important steel static projects.
